Who’s Afraid of Herr Hugo Wolf?

This is a free virtual event on May 4 at 2:00pm ET

Early Bird Registration for Friends of CSI Opens April 24

Due to their intimate study group nature, Song Connect events are capped at ten participants. Want to guarantee your spot? Join the Friends of CSI for early bird registration to all Song Connect events.

  • Have you ever wondered what’s the deal with the songs of Hugo Wolf? Need an opportunity to tell the world why his songs are so great? Then join us for this friendly conversation where we’ll explore the songs of the big-bad Wolf! We’ll focus on two of his greatest songs, “Im Frühling” and “Ganymed,” for a lively discussion where all opinions are welcome. A short informative introduction by our host, Simon Barrad, will precede hot-takes, unpopular truths, and lively debate by the group.

  • This is a virtual event from 2-3pm Eastern Time; anyone with an internet connection may register.

Think of Song Connect as a small book club or study event. With intriguing topics for each session led by an expert guest leader, we will explore, converse, and listen to deepen our understanding of song, all while socializing and having a wonderful time together.

Free registration is required so we can send you helpful materials to enhance your experience, such as song scores, links for listening, and more. But don’t worry - if you can’t explore these resources before the event, it won’t hamper your ability to engage and enjoy!

  • In short, anyone! Whether you’re brand new to the world of song and want to learn more, or a seasoned fan of the genre interested in bonding with like-minded song enthusiasts, Song Connect events are for everyone.
